Our Mission

The mission of Heartbeats of the World ("HOW") is to enrich the lives of woman, adolescents, and children in underserved areas of the world by providing medical resources and educational opportunities addressing the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy and unemployment. We seek to get out in front of the problems associated with HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted disease and teenage pregnancy by providing education and training to help prevent those problems from arising.

How presently operates five schools on the island of Jamaica which provide education and vocational training to young people who have been left behind in the Jamaican school system. HOW provides medical education lectures in churches in Harlem and the Bronx, New York. HOW also provides financial and medical support to the work of Father Gregory Ramkissoon and Mustard Seed Communities, which provides care and shelter to abandoned, severally mentally and physically disabled children, children with HIV/AIDS, and abandoned pre-teen and teenage pregnant girls on the island of Jamaica; and also has facilities in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe.
