The schools are the backbone of this organization. Without them, we cannot fulfill our mission. Recent hurricanes have eroded the ground surrounding the major HOW education and vocational training facility in Spring Bank, Portland Parish. A smaller, temporary school has been erected, but the immediate need is to raise funds to build a new school. We are not providing education at our Trelawny, St. Ann and Fellowship facilities because we do not have the funds to pay teachers.

HOW needs funds for the following:

• To build a new school at Spring Bank
• Three additional (Math and English) teachers
  
• Expansion of early education program
  
• Extension of education opportunities to Fellowship School in Port Antonio
  
• Continuation of our school lunch program
• Reading and computer labs and library
